FDR Packaging: Focusing on sustainable mono-materials
FDR Emballages is a French specialist in ecological and innovative packaging from the wood sector. It produces a whole range of packaging in solid and corrugated cardboard, as well as transparent paper films such as Ecological Transparent Paper.
FDR Emballages develops packaging ranges for a wide range of sectors, in particular for the logistics and pharmaceutical industries. The food industry is not left out, as FDR Emballages also produces packaging adapted to the needs of production or food safety suitable for direct contact with food, freezing, cooking in oven or microwave, customisation, trays, cooking moulds, cases, etc.
Heat-sealable and printable, ETP film can be used for many applications and purposes such as 3-seal bags, stand-up pouches, flowpack, windowing or lamination of packaging. It is particularly relevant for food packaging due to its unique characteristics, thus constituting a more than attractive eco-responsible alternative to traditional plastic film.
By investing in research and development aiming at progressively removing plastic from packaging, by recycling production waste and by proposing to industrialists ecological solutions with equivalent quality, FDR Emballages has designed the ETP transparent paper film, made from wood, biodegradable and certified in compliance with the “Home OK Compost” label.
“This film is compatible with most of the traditional machines, except for heat-shrinkable or stretchable ones, and offers a good barrier to oxygen and humidity. There is also a moisture-breathing version for fruit and vegetables, certain cheeses and cold meats”, explains François-Xavier Franssen, Sales Manager at FDR Emballages.
