CoffeeB, the coffee pod…without a pod
CoffeeB, a brand new company created at the beginning of September 2022, intends to make a name for itself in the coffee pod market with a concept that is revolutionary to say the least: a coffee pod… without a pod.
Coffee balls – the ultimate alternative to classic pods
The concept is quite simple: once roasted and ground, the coffee is first compressed into balls, then coated with a protective layer with an algae base. This preserves its durability and keeps the aroma contained, while perfectly protecting the coffee. The balls are made in Switzerland, and are available in a wide variety of fine coffees, all coming from the long-established “Café Royal” roasting method.
There isn’t a trace of plastic or aluminum: here, the only packaging is a single recyclable cardboard box with a protective film, protecting the coffee balls from oxygen and humidity. Storing the coffee balls in a dry place at room temperature or at refrigeration temperature will keep the coffee fresh for up to three months even after opening – the same as for classic ground coffee.
CoffeeB also designs and manufactures coffee machines which accommodate this new type of pod, guaranteeing a completely sustainable coffee-making system at home.
Ecological even after enjoying a cup
Coffee grounds contain three of the most important macronutrients that plants need to grow well: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
And so CoffeeB coffee balls are an excellent option for those who want to make compost using their grounds: they decompose in a few weeks with humidity, and leave no plastic or aluminum waste.
