As the ecological transition is an increasingly pressing issue for citizens, many of them are demanding packaging solutions that limit their impact on the environment. To this end, the reuse of packaging is emerging as a favoured solution. This is why the ‘Réseau Vrac & Réemploi’ (Bulk & Reuse Network) launched ‘Bulk and Reuse Month’ in 2022, from 1st to 30 March. Let’s take a look at this initiative.

Actions carried out as part of Bulk and Reuse Month

Launched in 2022, Mois du Vrac et du Réemploi (Bulk and Reuse Month) aims to highlight initiatives in favour of bulk consumption and the reuse of packaging. Supported by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forests, Sea and Fisheries, the association has also received support from other strategic players: Citeo, Cityz média and 20 Minutes. To actively contribute to reducing waste and promoting reuse, the Network’s website has several sections to inform and raise awareness among Internet users in a fun way (quizzes, tests, maps, etc.), tools that are accessible throughout the year. As part of Bulk and Reuse Month, the association invites you to discover the ‘Map of Events’, presenting a selection of activities (tastings, commercial offers, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, etc.) near you! The Network team has also produced a comprehensive communication kit aimed at those involved in the reuse of packaging. This tool has been well received by those involved in the sector, as it has inspired ADEME, which has published its own communication kit adapted to those involved in the repair or reuse of objects.

Bulk and Reuse Month announces the ReUse operation

The fourth edition of ‘Bulk and Reuse Month’ in March 2025 also echoes an acceleration of the sustainable transition in the world of packaging. In parallel with this initiative, the ReUse loop, federated by Citeo, is being rolled out. Developed in four major French regions (Pays-de-la-Loire, Brittany, Normandy and Hauts-de-France), from May it will enable 16 million French people to buy consumer products in reusable packaging. According to its organiser, the deployment of ReUse in these regions should ultimately enable the introduction of 30 million shared reusable packaging items.

Reuse, a topic at the heart of the latest edition of ALLFORPACK EMBALLAGE PARIS

The ‘Réseau Vrac & Réemploi’ (Bulk & Reuse Network), at the forefront of this approach, is the only national network of companies specialising in the reuse of packaging and bulk consumption. Its mission is to build a legal framework favourable to circular models, to train and inform professionals to help their organisations transition to sustainability, to create links between all stakeholders, and to embed this more responsible way of life in everyone’s habits. These are objectives shared by the ALLFORPACK EMBALLAGE PARIS trade fair, which supports players in the innovative packaging sector. In June 2023, the trade fair organised a webinar on the theme of ‘Products for bulk sales: an adapted packaging system to avoid waste and guarantee safety’. Following on from this, during the trade fair in November 2024, the conference ‘R for reuse, a new world under construction’ was held, bringing together several speakers including Shu Zhang, co-founder of Pandobac and president of the Réseau Vrac et Réemploi.
