As an exhibitor at ALLFORPACK EMBALLAGE PARIS, Naeco is continuing its commitment to the circular economy with the creation of a new division dedicated to the manufacture of 100% recycled polyester fibres from PET bottle waste.

Following Naeco Packaging (manufacturer of 100% recycled and/or recyclable pallets, crates and containers) and Naeco Recycling (manufacturer of 100% recycled granules), the Naeco Group is adding a new division with the creation of Naeco Fibers, specialising in the conversion of PET waste into recycled polyester fibres.

Born from the alliance between Naeco and the Korean company Mecen IPC, Naeco Fibers will be based in a new factory in Asturias (Spain), where PET waste will be transformed into innovative polyester staple fibres. ‘Mecen brings its extensive experience in the production of recycled polyester staple fibres, while Naeco continues its commitment to integrated processes from waste to final product. This strategic union combines know-how, resources and expertise to offer a sustainable and locally manufactured product,’ says Naeco, which promises to ‘revolutionise the recycled polyester fibre industry with a range of products tailored to customer needs’.

Solid fibre, hollow fibre and conjugated hollow fibre: three product ranges are presented in the new company’s catalogue for applications meeting the needs of various sectors (automotive, textiles and geotextiles, construction, healthcare, etc.).

This creation responds to market demand for more sustainably manufactured products. ‘For every tonne of recycled polyester fibre produced by Naeco Fibres, replacing virgin polyester, consumers can avoid up to 70% of CO2 emissions, which represents approximately 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide less per tonne supplied,’ says Naeco.
